Tackling dementia, depression and loneliness through the power of sport

Sporting Memories Wales hosting ‘Croeso Week’ to recognise its clubs across the nation!

Between 21-27 March 2022, Sporting Memories Wales will be celebrating its clubs and activity across Wales through ‘Croeso Week’.

Throughout the week, Sporting Memories will show the value of our clubs across the country and how our sessions deliver a positive impact for members within their local communities through a range of articles and events.

‘Croeso’ means welcome in Welsh and our clubs across Wales and the UK aim to provide a welcoming environment for members to bond over sports reminiscence through a range of discussion points and activities. As well as reminiscence, our clubs provide the opportunity to participate in gentle physical activity, promoting positive mental and physical wellbeing.

Our work is supported by the Health and Active Fund in Wales and throughout the week we will be highlighting some of our amazing volunteers and club facilitators through stories on our website and across social media.

We will also be hosting a range of events to celebrate including an online zoom session between clubs and members from across Wales and Scotland, as well as teaming up with Dragons Rugby to host a special in-person event at Rodney Parade which will see our clubs from across Cardiff, Swansea, Barry and Newport unite for a day of reminiscence and fun activities!

Keep visiting the website (www.sportingmemoriesfoundation.com) or following us across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for more information throughout the week with our hashtag #CroesoWeek
