Our Scotland team achieves Volunteer Friendly Award

Ahead of our Volunteer Awards, we’re delighted to announce that Sporting Memories Foundation Scotland have been awarded the Volunteer Friendly Award.

The Volunteer Friendly Award is designed to support, recognise and reward groups who are good at involving volunteers across Scotland. The award has been given by Volunteer Scotland, which is the national centre for volunteering and receives funded support from the Scottish Government and others to research, demonstrate and measure the impact made by volunteers across the country.

With support from Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (VANL), our brilliant Scotland Volunteer Co-Ordinator Liz Price has led the process in obtaining the award, with this being achieved as the new accreditation process has begun.

Speaking on the award, Maurice Donohue, Chief Operating Officer for Sporting Memories Foundation Scotland, said: “This is another brilliant success story for us here in Scotland and we’re delighted that we are now accredited ahead of our upcoming Volunteer Awards Evening.

“Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do at Sporting Memories and our work would not be possible without the time they commit to us every year to make each club a welcoming place for all of our members.

“I’d like to say a huge well done to Liz for all of her work on this along with a huge thank you to all our team up in Scotland and VANL for their support.”
