Fundraising, Mini Golf and so much more at Stratford Sports Club

Stratford Sports Club have been busy with their Sporting Memories group recently through a range of physical and fundraising activities!

Drums

Despite being our only club in the West Midlands, Stratford Sports Club have been keeping themselves busy over June with a range of exciting activities for members as well as raising vital funds.

Mini golf

Members recently took a trip away from their normal session setting to play a round of mini-golf at a nearby course, which was then followed up by a discussion about Bowls from the local Bowling Club.

In a following session, the club members were given an opportunity to put their musical skills to the test as they were taught how to play African Drums. Members were provided with a drum each as they slowly got into the rhythm of the activity for the session!

On 23 June, Stratford Sports Club held a fundraiser for their Sporting Memories activity through a Sports Quiz. Using a similar format which they run within our sessions, the club was able to raise over £500 for future activity.

Anne Tubb, Community Outreach Sport and Wellbeing Development Officer at Stratford Sports Club, reflected on the busy month of June.

“We’ve had a busy month here at the club and it has been great to see our members play such an active role in all the things we have done. From mini-golf to bowls and then playing some drums we’ve tried to keep things entertaining for everyone and they have seemed to have enjoyed all the activities.

“We’re also grateful for everyone who came along to the quiz night as we were able to raise some important funds for the club which means we can continue to run more fun activities in the future.”
