23 September 2021

On 22 September, our Co-Founder Chris Wilkins attended the official opening of Peony Court care home in Croyden. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Barchester Healthcare, which Peony Court is a part of.

In partnership with the Asian Resource Centre of Croyden, we will also be setting up at Peony Court a Community Club to help make connections with the wider community in Croyden.

Peony Court was opened by Councillor Sherwan Chowdhury, Mayor of Croyden, along with Crystal Palace legend Steve Kember. Kember began his professional career with Crystal Palace and played for England U23s. Moving to Chelsea then Leicester, he was signed back to Crystal Palace by Terry Venables, playing a key role in their being promoted back to the First Division. In 2003 he became Palace manager.

We presented Peony Court with five Sporting Memories KITbags – practical exercise packs with record books, exercise guides and equipment that will help residents to stay active and gain strength. Find out more about our KITbags
