About Us Patrons and Ambassadors Lachie Stewart Lachie Stewart's victory in the 10,000m final at the 1950 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games – beating the favourite, multi-world-record-holder Australian Ron Clarke – is perhaps the most well known of the many achievements that led, in 2007, to him being inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame. Lachie – as he is known by sports and athletics fans around the world – won 13 Scottish titles in seven years and established numerous Scottish records, both on the track and in cross-country. We are incredibly proud that Lachie is a Sporting Memories Ambassador, and we have been delighted to welcome his support at Sporting Memories events in Scotland.
