Lachie Stewart's victory in the 10,000m final at the 1950 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games – beating the favourite, multi-world-record-holder Australian Ron Clarke – is perhaps the most well known of the many achievements that led, in 2007, to him being inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame.
