Our Rich History of Partnerships

Our Rich History of Partnerships

Sporting Memories has developed an innovative and engaging approach to tackling the challenges of our ageing society. Our work focuses on:

  • Reducing loneliness and isolation.
  • Getting older people physically active.
  • Helping people to live well with dementia.
  • Creating and curating intergenerational projects.
  • The development and use of digital technologies to support our work.

We have developed high quality, scalable and sustainable models of implementation, enabled by the growth award from UnLtd’s Solutions for an Ageing Society.

Our these models, programmes and packages enable effective partnerships, through experience, a robust training programme for partners and volunteers and through other valuable resources. These have all been designed with input and in collaboration with our members, partners and volunteers. Through these, we have been able to develop local, regional and national projects with partners from a broad range of sectors and areas of society, including:

  • Local Authorities, CCG’s & NHS Trusts
  • Professional Sport Community Foundations or Trusts
  • Third Sector Organisations
  • Housing Associations
  • Museums and Heritage Organisations

Read about some of our projects and how our partners are helping to make a difference.

We also have academic partners that support us to evaluate the impact of our work. These partners include Leeds Beckett University, Stirling University, De Montfort University, Leicester and the London School of Economics.

Evidence -- collected through these academic partners and our monitoring and evaluation of projects --  demonstrates the positive health and social impact our projects and programmes provide in communities and to individuals. This evidence offers  a strong case for grants and funding.

With experience and our work to date we have developed a knowledge and awareness on how to prepare funding applications based on coherent budgeting and reliable cost evaluation.  If you are a prospective partner organisation needing our assistance and expertise to put together a joint bid to apply for funding or if you have secured funds we can help provide support and expertise to seek project funding or help establish a coherent working budget to match either aspiration.

You can learn about the different ways you can partner with us, including:

  • Through a Sporting Memories Social Licence
  • With a Care Setting Package
  • Through Corporate Volunteering
  • With Corporate Sponsorship

And please contact us to discuss how we can work in partnership to tackle the challenges of our ageing society.
