10 March 2021

March 2021 sees Sandhurst Sporting Memories Club celebrate its third birthday. And the icing on the cake? The Club has been nominated for a Berkshire High Sheriff Award, with the results to be announced at a virtual award ceremony on 18 March. The High Sheriff Awards 2021 recognise the exceptional work done by so many in Berkshire to support those in need in their communities during the pandemic.

With a birthday cake not possible just yet, the group have decided to celebrate in style with cake once the group is able to meet 'in-person', to mark birthday, nomination and re-opening.

3 years young!

Angie Mills-Curtis, National Volunteer Coordinator and Group Facilitator, says: "I am so incredibly proud of our Sandhurst volunteers and the nomination they have received is so very well deserved. But if I had my way every single one of my volunteers would receive an award as they have all gone above and beyond in helping to keep our groups going by changing to virtual weekly meetings. They have also kept in touch with members who were unable to join in that way, meaning that our members were able to remain in contact with each other throughout this pandemic. Many of them have also been volunteering their time delivering food and medication to local residents and at local vaccination centres."
