Stepping out with Rugby Greats 22 April 2021 Announcing Steps for Sporting Memories: Rugby Greats! The latest in our series of virtual walks. The Steps for Sporting Memories series goes from strength to strength. Find out more about the series, or visit the World Walking website and search for ‘Sporting Memories’ to see our whole series of walks. On this walk, we start with Keith Wood in Ireland, via ‘Voice of Rugby’ Bill McLaren in Scotland, and end with Scott Quinnell in Wales. We cover 1,369km (850 miles or 1,996,694 steps). And get to know many more Rugby Union greats along the way. Our virtual walks are designed to be completed any time, however you like – at home or out and about. Any activity counts towards your steps. You can even invite friends and family to join you as a team and help you complete the route. Our Patron Alastair Hignell CBE sends an inspirational message: As Alastair says: ‘Walking in their footsteps is not about emulating their achievements; it’s about doing the best that you can. Good luck!
