Vacancies Current opportunities: Communications Assistant (Social Media) Conwy Sporting Memories Project Coordination Communications Assistant (Social Media) - based in the Edinburgh area (posted 10 March 2021) This is a brand new role within our organisation and an opportunity to make your mark on the communications reach and engagement of a UK charity. Reporting to and working closely with our Communications Manager, in this role you will engage with some of the biggest accounts and personalities of the sporting and media world, and with those people and organisations who lie at the heart of our work. Your focus will be on providing social media support and input, but there will be opportunities to provide communications support across a range of tasks, such as collating quotes and case studies, writing news articles, supporting campaigns and building contact and media lists. Download further details Conwy Sporting Memories Project Co-ordination (posted 29 January 2021) Contract value: £2,800 Duration: 26 days, 5–6 months Location: Conwy Sporting Memories is looking for a provider/individual to support activities funded through the Healthy and Active Fund, a programme managed and delivered in partnership by the Welsh Government, Sport Wales and Public Health Wales. The project will promote the mental and physical wellbeing of people over 50, using the power of sport as a focus to engage those in particular who are living with dementia, depression or are socially isolated. Weekly volunteer-led clubs will take place at a range of local sports clubs, community venues, through telephone circles and online, using archive images of sport, memorabilia, and news reports to trigger fond memories of playing or watching sport. As well as reminiscing about sport and allowing group members to tell their stories through sporting memories, the clubs include exercise and the playing of accessible sports to increase physical activity levels of beneficiaries.
