Sam Torrance

We are excited to reveal that Sam Torrance is supporting the launch of Replay Golf, the latest sport to be offered by Sporting Memories Network

Sam is one of the most popular and charismatic golfers on the professional world stage. His career has spanned over a remarkable 39 years, during which he has won 44 tournaments around the world, and walked 17,000 miles in the process! Winner of the European Seniors Tour Order of Merit in 2005, 2006 and 2009.

"I have so many amazing memories from my years of professional golf, the Ryder Cup being one focus of these, but also the fantastic support I always received whenever playing in Scotland. Replay Golf could benefit so many older Scottish golf fans and I'm proud to support this initiative."

He has played in 8 Ryder Cups, been vice Captain once and Captain once (at The Belfry in 2002). He famously sunk the winning putt for Europe at the Belfry in 1985. Awarded an MBE by the Queen in 1996, which was complimented by an OBE in 2002.

Now a stalwart of the BBC commentary team which, with his tournament golf, corporate work and course design work, keeps him as busy as ever.
