The Sporting Memories Foundation Scotland is recruiting. We currently run over fifty weekly groups for isolated older sports fans across the central belt of Scotland and are looking to grow our team of support staff to continue to build our impact across communities.

Job Description

Salary:   FTE £24,000 pa (37.5 hours per week)
Hours:   20 hours per week
Responsible to: Chief Operating Officer
Contract length: 3 years
Location:  Central Belt

Purpose of post

To improve the quality of life of older people by being able to mentor, train and support group co-ordinators / personnel to delivering sporting reminiscence and physical wellbeing activities. The role is central to our success, in the development of a best practice to aid group co-ordinators in the planning, organising and facilitating social, recreational and therapeutic activities in the local community; and for ensuring that older people are encouraged, have access to, and can participate in a varied range of activities which are designed to enhance their quality of life and enjoyment.

Responsibilities of post
• To manage, mentor group co-ordinators and support them to develop and implement activities to meet the needs of local, older people.
• To co-ordinate networking and communication between group co-ordinators that will further enhance and develop session /activity provision.
• To work with and support group co-ordinators to demonstrate the impact of sessions /activities.
• The Groups Delivery & Practice Co-ordinator / Manager, may also oversee the work of volunteers in partnership with the Volunteer Co-ordinator or other allocated manager.
