Intergenerational Co-ordinator

The Sporting Memories Foundation Scotland is recruiting. We currently run over fifty weekly groups for isolated older sports fans across the central belt of Scotland and are looking to grow our team of support staff to continue to build our impact across communities.

Intergenerational Co-ordinator:

Responsible for developing and supporting our intergenerational projects, bringing younger people together with our Sporting Memories Group members in a range of reminiscence, heritage and sports-based activities

Salary: FTE £22,500 (based on 37.5 hours per week)

Hours: 20 to 25 hours per week
Responsible to: Chief Operating Officer
Contract length: 3 years
Location:  Central Belt of Scotland

Purpose of post

To improve the quality of life of older people by developing a range of opportunities for intergenerational exchange. The role is central to our success, in the development of activities in line with the needs of older people whilst also offering meaningful activity for younger people which complements their learning in school.

Responsibilities of post include
• To deliver a range of high quality intergenerational activities which meet the needs of local older people.
• To manage, mentor group co-ordinators and support them to develop and implement activities to meet the needs of local, older people.
• To liaise with schools and youth groups to plan sessions which complement and enhance existing curriculum provision.
• To co-ordinate networking and communication between group co-ordinators that will further enhance and develop session /activity provision.
• To work with and support group co-ordinators to demonstrate the impact of sessions /activities.
