Paul Hawksbee - Patron

We are delighted to welcome broadcaster and writer Paul Hawksbee as a patron of The Sporting Memories Foundation.

Paul has co-presented the Hawksbee & Jacobs Show on TalkSPORT radio for over 16 years, having first met co-host Andy Jacobs when they worked together as producers on Skinner & Baddiel's Fantasy Football League TV show.

Over the years he's been fortunate to meet and interview many sporting legends including Brian Clough, Sir Garfield Sobers, Joe Frazier and Sir Stirling Moss. One particular highlight saw former Heavyweight Champion George Foreman talking boxing while cooking steaks in the studio on his Lean Mean Grilling Machine!

Paul was also a former Head of Media at Chelsea FC, a presenter on TV show You're On Sky Sports - and the editor of football magazines 90 Minutes and Goal.

He's also been an comedy writer for, among others, Frankie Howard, The Two Ronnies, Rob Brydon and Al Murray The Pub Landlord and was part of the BAFTA-winning writing team on the long-running ITV series Harry Hill's TV Burp.

Paul is a (long suffering) Spurs fan, having watched his first game at White Hart Lane in September 1968 - a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest, his memory of this game is available to listen to below.

Last year he was honoured to make a few guest appearances for the Spurs Legends team, where he got to play alongside many of his heroes including Teddy Sheringham and Darren Anderton - and fully deserved his rollicking from FA Cup winning defender Paul Miller for playing the opposition striker onside!
