Mariners Memories: Former Grimsby Town star Terry Donovan recalls his best moments from fine career

Ahead of tomorrow night's first 'Mariners Memory Game' - aimed at raising awareness of dementia - Terry Donovan tells the Telegraph's Matt Dannatt about his top Town moments...

TERRY Donovan witnessed the devastating effects that dementia can have throughout the fight of his father, Grimsby Town legend, Don.

A defender who played 238 league games for the Mariners between 1958 and 1964, Donovan senior passed away in September, at the age of 83, after a long battle against the disease.

And after seeing his father's plight first-hand, Terry has thrown his support behind Town's 'Mariners Memory' initiative.
