Best National Dementia Friendly Initiative - Awards Film

We travelled to Westminster on Tuesday 20th May as a finalist in the first ever Alzheimer's Society National Dementia Friendly Awards. Sporting Memories Network was nominated for best national initiative and we were delighted to pick up the top award. Watch the film on how Sporting Memories Network is supporting people to live well with dementia Hosted by Alzheimer's Society Ambassador Angela Rippon, the award for Best National Initiative was presented by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt to the network's founders Chris Wilkins and Tony Jameson-Allen. Introducing the award, Jeremy Hunt acknowledged the power sport has to connect generations and praised the role the network's memory games have played in raising awareness of dementia. A film demonstrating the impact sporting memories can have in supporting people to live well with dementia was shown to the packed Central Hall and we look forward to sharing this with you soon.
